Matt Blocki is the Founder and CEO of Equilibrium Wealth Advisors, an independent registered investment advisory firm built to help successful individuals, families, and business owners navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence.
Matt began his career in financial planning in 2009 and often says he was fortunate to find a profession early in life that never felt like “work.” Helping people make smart decisions during pivotal moments like selling a business, negotiating a career move, planning for retirement, or managing sudden complexity remains at the core of his work today.
He holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designations. Matt earned a double major in accounting and finance from Geneva College, where he also played collegiate basketball.
Over the course of his career, Matt has developed deep expertise advising business owners through liquidity events, as well as negotiating and structuring physician employment contracts. He is frequently sought out for guidance on high-stakes financial decisions that involve competing priorities, imperfect information, and real emotional weight. In addition to his client work, Matt speaks to financial firms, physician groups, and executive teams on strategy, decision-making, and long-term planning.
Matt founded EWA to operate differently than traditional advisory firms. The firm acts as a true financial quarterback by coordinating investments, tax strategy, insurance, estate planning, and major decisions under one cohesive framework so clients can operate in a more focused, stress-free financial mode. His top priority is helping clients protect their most valuable non-renewable resource: time.
Matt lives in Pittsburgh with his daughter, Aurora. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, travel, and creating new experiences with family and friends. A lesser-known fact: he can still dunk, prefers athleisure over suits, and is affectionately known as “T-Rex,” a nickname earned during his basketball days.
